Zool is proud to sponsor Hazel Grove United Junior Football Club Under 9s Football team, and so we were thrilled when they recently delivered to us a framed shirt which is now sitting in pride of place in our new office.
Hazel Grove United’s story starts right back in 1958 when a group of lads went from house to house collecting funds in order to be able to launch themselves on the local football scene. In their very first season, they managed to not only win the League Championship but the League Cup as well.
Things only got better after their flying start as well with the Club’s trophy ? cabinet getting fuller and fuller. In fact, between 1962 and 1974 the club not only won three Haslem Cup Finals but also two Stockport Amateur League titles. Their finest hour, perhaps, came in the 1977 season when they won a coveted treble – Stockport Metro League Premier Championship, Stockport and Cheadle Sunday League Division 3 Title as well as picking up the SKF cup.
The Junior section of Hazel Grove United is thriving still, and we are proud to sponsor such a committed team of people – who provide the kids not only a safe environment to play football in, a place where football is fun, and also a place where teammates become life long mates. It is our pleasure to invest in the future of this great bunch of local kids:
