June was a busy month in SEO as Google released algorithm updates left, right and centre!

At the beginning of June, Google announced they were planning not one but two core algorithm updates, with the first rolling out on the 2nd of June (taking around two weeks to be completed) and the second planned for July. Google said they were doing the update in two stages as there were some changes they wanted live that wouldn’t be ready for the June update. What this does mean, is that if any sites were negatively affected by the first update this month, this could be reversed with the second update in July – but all we can do at the moment is watch and wait.

The Page Experience update also began rolling out in June, slowly it seems with all Page Experience elements, including Core Web Vitals, set to become ranking factors by the end of August. We are working away on this in the background to ensure none of our clients is negatively affected.
